    Job Summary

    We seek a dedicated and enthusiastic individual as Officer (Data Management) to join our Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam team. The Officer (Data Management) is responsible to develop and establish data management frameworks comprising of policies, guidelines, QA/QC procedures as per data management best practices. He/She is also responsible to establish and maintain robust data management service which shall include but not limited to data requests for internal and external, promoting services, request performance monitoring, demand forecast, service review and improvement. This Officer (Data Management) also will be the key person in managing Data Management System, and/other repositories (if any) as well as to work with multi- disciplines to establish and maintain QA/QC data management procedures for improvement of in-house data management.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist the Lead in the overall aspect to Petroleum data management needs of the business across the organization.

    • Support the Lead for the development and sustainment of Petroleum data management procedures and standards including governance model, following standards and practices agreed and put in place within the organization.

    • Liaise with respective data owners and/or data users to improve and resolve data issues, optimizing workflows, and recommending workflow improvements.

    • Assist the Lead in maintaining and management of any systems and/or applications implementing of Petroleum Data Management System for organization.

    • Assist the Lead in supervising a team of Data Support on routine data operation which included QA/QC, published QC data to Petroleum Data Management System as well as data request services.

    • Contribute to KPI's project activities in conjunction with other requirements such as preparing datasets for upstream projects, data -room viewing and etc.

    • Liaise with IT personal both internal and contractor to ensure stability of relevant system including interfacing to the system administrator/ IT support team for the support and development of the Data Management Infrastructure.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • Citizen of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

    • Preferably bachelor's degree in data science, Information Technology or any relevant discipline.

    • Preferably having working experience in handling subsurface technical data, GIS data management and associated data management practices as well as working experience in project implementation for data management system.

    • Have strong computer literacy inclusive of the use of related software for seismic/well data loading, analysis and data management.

    • Familiar with Linux (preferably Red Hat) operating system.

    • Have the skills and knowledge of acquiring, assimilating and managing data, computer mapping and solving complex problems involving computer system and data.

    • Must be able to multi-task as well as to work both independently and in a team.

    • Have solid research, reporting and project management as well as stakeholder and networking skills.

    • Proficient in Bahasa Melayu and English Language.

    • Have strong analytical and problem- solving skills.
