Job Summary

We seek a dedicated and experienced Officer (HSSE) to join our Petroleum Authority of Brunei Darussalam team. The Officer (HSSE) is responsible to provide support for the management of HSSE related matters in Petroleum Authority and within the Oil and Gas Industry.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as an HSSE advisor to the oil and gas operators in ensuring compliance with HSSE laws and international standards.

  • Monitor and assess oil and gas operator's HSSE performance.

  • Exercise regulatory role in conducting assurance checks to ensure operations and activities are executed safely.

  • Act as an HSSE advisor within the Petroleum Authority to uphold HSSE standards and compliance.

  • Foster a positive HSSE culture and encourage leadership commitment to safety.

  • Develop and manage HSSE systems, guidelines and training to staff.

  • Ensure contractors compliance with HSSE regulations.

  • Implement processes for hazard identification and risk management.

  • Establish emergency response and crisis management protocols.

  • Support in incident investigations and maintain HSSE incident reporting systems.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in HSSE or related field. Candidate with post graduate certifications is preferred.

  • Possess the NEBOSH certification will be an added advantage.

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in oil and gas industry and HSSE related matters will be an advantage.

  • Have HSSE MS building knowledge in HSSE management system, contractor HSSE management, management of change (MOC), permit to work (PTW) system.

  • Have building knowledge in HSSE assurance, HSSE audit, fire warden and first aider.

  • Have building knowledge in Incident investigation and reporting and incident command system (ICS)

  • Have building knowledge in Exploration and production basic process and overview of gas processing.

  • Have HSSE inspection skills.

  • Have the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
