Job Summary

We seek a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our Compliance team as the Senior Officer (Governance & Ethics). This position serves as the primary focal point and advisor for governance and ethics matters within the organization. The Senior Officer (Governance & Ethics) ensures effective implementation and maintenance of governance frameworks, policies and ISO standards (ISO 9001 and any upcoming) while leading ethics programs including Conflict of Interest (COI), Gifts & Hospitality, Declarations, Whistleblowing and Anti-Corruption initiatives. Others key responsibilities include monitoring compliance, tracking mitigation actions, supporting investigations, conducting awareness campaigns, and preparing reports and dashboards for the Governance & Ethics Lead.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary focal person and advisor for all ethics - related matters.

  • Manage effectiveness of all Ethics programs, including Conflict of Interest (COI), Gift & Hospitality, Declarations, Whistleblowing, Anti - Corruption /Anti- Bribery.

  • Implement and maintain ISO 9001: QMS and any relevant standards.

  • Design and implement Ethics frameworks and monitor their effectiveness across the Authority.

  • Conduct ethics awareness campaigns (talks, videos, banners, emails, roadshows, contests).

  • Monitor compliance, review declarations, track mitigation actions, and lead/support investigations.

  • Prepare ethics reports, dashboards, and summaries for Management.

  • Support the Lead in supervising governance and ethics focus to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.

  • Conduct research and analysis on governance and ethics matters in the oil and gas industry and propose the best new practices.

  • Support Governance & Ethics Lead in managing all governance and ethics issues, identifying solutions to remove obstacles in executing sound governance framework and practices for the Authority.

  • Facilitate all its governance and ethics improvement activities, as and when required.

  • Support the department and/or PA as and when required.

  • Work collaboratively with team members to achieve shared goals and objectives.

  • Execute any tasks assigned by the superior from time to time.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Citizen of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam.

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in Audit/ Business Administration/ Management/ Governance/Ethics related or equivalent discipline.

  • Having professional qualification will be an added advantage.

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience, including exposure to governance and ethics.

  • Have solid understanding of governance and ethics.

  • Experience in addressing governance and ethics challenges through practical, sustainable and best practice solutions with a strong focus on continuous improvement.

  • Have leadership and mentorship experience.

  • Experience in the oil and gas industry is an added advantage.

  • Experience in implementing, maintaining and auditing ISO9001/37001 standards is an added advantage.

  • Have strong analytical and decision-making skills.

  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Highly proactive with strong critical thinking and problem- solving skills.

  • Able to design and deliver ethics and governance awareness campaigns and sessions.

  • Have strong networking and collaboration capability.
